Epithets the Book is an artist's book in list form, composed of epithets. An epithet is a short phrase used to describe a distinctive feature of a person or thing. It is part nickname, part brand name, part historical fact, part mythology.

The book uses the alphabet as a means of orientation, which allows for strange and often humorous juxtapositions of names. The publication's small format evokes associations with pocket travel guides, portable dictionaries, user manuals, and poetry collections. While far from declarative, definable, or didactic, Epithets the Book functions as a kind of found poetry collection. It is a hymn to the power of language and chance finds, to the oddities of history, and to the compulsion to categorize human and non-human behavior, whether good, bad, or not.
